Intellectual capital refers to the knowledge accumulated in an organisation in the course of its operation, having a significant impact on the corporate value. As knowledge constitutes both assets and a competitive advantage of a company, it has to be managed. Knowledge management portals, one of the knowledge management tools, are considered to be the highest form of information portals. Management portals must support all knowledge processes and foster knowledge production and dissemination through their tools and technologies. Portal technology facilitates cooperation, team work, content management, data management, knowledge management, application of business intelligence etc. However, alongside adequate knowledge management, people with varying characteristics are still at the forefront, which is why corporate culture is necessary in organisations to support the knowledge processes.
