The paper gives a new insight into the cataloguing practice in the COBISS.SI system, primarily regarding the necessity of bibliographic data for the management of bibliographies for researchers and research organisations. The paper evaluates two areas in the cataloguing practice, both of them optional but recommended.
In autumn 2019, IZUM prepared the medium-term strategy for 2019–2024. Seven strategic objectives are identified. They are described based on the common methodology (situation analysis, description of the objectives, planned measures to achieve the objectives, expected results and effects, indicators and specific risk factors with risk control measures).
The E-CRIS web applications representing research activities in countries that participate in the COBISS.Net system make it possible to access data in the XML format adjusted for communication among computers. Internal IZUM applications and different applications of scientific institutions access the data. In 2016, access to a wider data set in the JSON format was made possible.
ZUM developed the COBISS/SciMet portal to monitor scientific publications and to evaluate publications published by Slovenian authors. The methodology of collecting, aggregating and processing data on Slovenian authors obtained from different information resources, e.g. WoS, Scopus, COBISS.SI, SICRIS, SNIP and JCR is described. The options of data display within the portal and the functionalities of the portal are presented. A new framework used for developing the COBISS/SciMet web application is presented.

A new online user interface SICRIS, V3, was developed. Responsive web design concepts and support for mobile devices and touchscreens on the basis of jQuery Mobile framework were taken into account. Public access allows all functionalities of the previous version, and some new functionalities, such as advanced search, were added.
This article deals with an issue encountered by almost every financing system for scientific research: how to ensure the best possible quality of research and a favourable ratio between the means invested and the final result.
The novelty of the new web bibliographies version V3.5 is that bibliographic units, for which it has been established that they are covered by the Web of Science (WoS), are linked to the corresponding WoS record; in addition to that citation data is displayed.
Presented is the methodology of managing researchers’ bibliographies within the COBISS.SI system. A research classification scheme is used for unique identification of researchers. It is through this classification scheme that links are made to official records of the Slovenian Research Agency, containing information on researchers and developers, and to the Slovenian Current Research Information System (SICRIS).
