COBIB.SI: increment of bibliographic records in 2017

The article presents the analysis of the annual increment of bibliographic records in COBIB.SI in 2017. According to the data as of 31 December 2017, 174,995 new bibliographic records were created in COBIB.SI in 2017; the data collected during 2017 (n = 171,273) is analysed. The data on bibliographic and authority records downloaded from other databases is included, e.g. from WorldCat (OCLC), ISSN Register (International Standard Serial Number), Online Catalogue of the Library of Congress and Library of Congress Name Authority File (LCNAF).

COBIB.SI: increment of bibliographic records in 2016

The article shows the analysis of the annual increment of bibliographic records in COBIB.SI in 2016 by month and by day; records were contributed by cataloguers from 252 libraries. According to the data as of 31 December 2016, 181,535 new bibliographic records were created in COBIB.SI in 2016; the data for 177,486 bibliographic records is analysed and presented. At the end of the year, the monthly increment of bibliographic records increased, which can be contributed to the records for theses and dissertations.

COBIB.SI: increment of bibliographic records in 2015

The article shows the annual increment of bibliographic records in COBIB.SI in 2015. The data on the increment by months and by days was analysed. With a total increment of 27.88%, November, October and January were the leading months, the increment was a little over 9% in each of these months. In 2015 the largest number of bibliographic records was created on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Stalni odbor UNIMARC: strateški cilji in aktivnosti

For more than twenty years, the Permanent UNIMARC Committee (PUC) has been directing the development of four UNIMARC formats; two of them enable international exchange of bibliographic and authority data, whereas the other two formats support high quality standardised operation of library and bibliographic systems. In the last decade, the most important tasks performed by PUC have included UNIMARC data transfer to the web, FRBR model implementation and independent development of formats to ensure their compatibility with various cataloguing rules.

The improvement of the COMARC format as a result of the expanding COBISS.Net network

The article describes the process of library automation in the Bulgarian National Library and the conversion of the records in their databases into the COMARC format and lists the reasons why COBISS software was chosen by the National Library of Bulgaria and other Bulgarian libraries. It also mentions the need to expand the COMARC format due to countries with different cataloguing practices participating in the COBISS.Net project.
