For evaluating research performance a reliable bibliographic base is required; in this respect, Slovenian state bodies responsible for allocating public funds for this purpose rely on COBISS.
The paper analyes model of evaluation of monographic scientific publications as proposed in Slovene Regulations on evaluation of scientific achievcements.
Although the information age and information society have been marked by it, information science has not been added to the research classification scheme of the Slovenian Research Agency (Agencija za raziskovalno dejavnost Republike Slovenije, ARRS) and of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia (Statistični urad Republike Slovenije, SURS).
In the article the issues of mobile media access to electronic archives are considered, taking into concern their limitations in information presentation and access. An important segment of mobile issues are mobile communications, which affect substantially the speed of accesss to the information stored in archieves.
The web application developed within the COBISS.SI system and intended for bibliographies of researchers and professionals as well as for articles published in serials is addressed. Possible methods for creating different types of bibliographies and methods for selecting and/or excluding bibliographic items when creating bibliographies of authors/researchers are presented.
At the scientific conference Libraries in the 21st century the vision of the library of the third millennium was accepted. In the centre of its future role stands a fully-educated librarian. In Serbia specialized library education started in 1948. In 1963 education of librarians started also at the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade.
