Biomedicina Slovenica in COBISS
The paper describes the creation of the bibliographical collection called Biomedicina Slovenica (BS) and its connection to the COBISS system. BS is a specialised bibliographical collection for the area of biomedicine in the process of development by the Institute of Biomedical Informatics of the Faculty of Medicine in Ljubljana since 1976.

Libraries represent an element of globalism of universities and a key factor influencing their quality. Commercial service providers emerge wherever libraries do not meet expectations. Two Slovene universities are provided with good library support, which does not apply to other higher education institutions.

The novelty of the new web bibliographies version V3.5 is that bibliographic units, for which it has been established that they are covered by the Web of Science (WoS), are linked to the corresponding WoS record; in addition to that citation data is displayed.
Stanje in problemi avtomatizacije knjižnic v Sloveniji
Presented in this paper are the very beginnings of library automation in Slovenia, the current state and issues. A special emphasis is given on the automation level of larger libraries which, for the most part, are full members of the COBISS.SI system. The paper also contains comprehensive factual data on the system.
Bibliografije raziskovalcev v sistemu COBISS.SI
Presented is the methodology of managing researchers’ bibliographies within the COBISS.SI system. A research classification scheme is used for unique identification of researchers. It is through this classification scheme that links are made to official records of the Slovenian Research Agency, containing information on researchers and developers, and to the Slovenian Current Research Information System (SICRIS).

For evaluating research performance a reliable bibliographic base is required; in this respect, Slovenian state bodies responsible for allocating public funds for this purpose rely on COBISS.
