In the spring of 2025, the Slovenian Research and Innovation Agency (ARIS) conducted a survey on the implementation of open science principles, to obtain the data to assess the enforcement of open science in the practices of research organizations in 2024. Fifty-four block funding recipients were invited to complete the questionnaire, of which 41 (76%) responded. The survey examines the integration of the open science concept into the goals, strategy, and mission of research organizations, the provision of services compliant with open science principles within research organizations, forms of national and international cooperation in the field of open science, and quantitative indicators of open science related to open publishing, research data, and infrastructure. The survey also aims to promote the implementation of open science principles. Open science will form part of the indicators of a broader and comprehensive system for the evaluation of scientific research and research organisations within block funding, since open science principles are the key dimension of excellent and socially relevant research.
