Vzpostavitev normativne kontrole v knjižničnem informacijskem sistemu COBISS.SI, Slovenija
Describes a process of gradual implementation of authority control in the COBISS library informationsystem in Slovenia (COBISS.SI). The CONOR.SI initial authority database contained, at thetime of its implementation, over 24,000 authority records for personal authors, mostly Slovenian,from publishing production of the last few years.

Presented are the impressions of the Digital Reference Pre-Conference held in conjunction with the 2002 American Library Association annual conference in Atlanta. Over the last years, the online reference service has established itself in the American libraries, and has now slowly been trying to find its way into Europe.

The paper describes the first steps in the introduction of the authority control for personal and corporate names, and editing of the CONOR, V5.1 authority database. It also gives an account on activities related to the preparation of the COBISS General List of Subject Headings.

The paper presents impressions of the Preconference dealing with The Future of Serials Control: Implementation of the MARC21 Holdings Format, and those of the Annual 2001 ALA Conference. Special importance is given to both current holdings standards and issues and plans concerning the implementation of these standards within the serials check-in module of the world’s best known library systems.
