Evaluation of the CONOR.SI authority file from cataloguers’ point of view in academic libraries

Authority control is an important part of cataloguing. The Slovene CONOR.SI authority file including authority records for individual and corporate authors, enables among others identification of authors. The purpose of the research was to find out cataloguers’ opinions on its usefulness, its advantages and disadvantages, and how creating authority records for corporate authors was practised. The survey was conducted as an online questionnaire and interview, 73 cataloguers from academic libraries participated. The results showed that the majority of surveyed cataloguers were satisfied with CONOR.SI.

Reading behaviour of students at the University of Ljubljana in a mobile environment

Foreign research reports low use of mobile devices for reading e-texts among students, so we investigated mobile reading behaviour among UL students. Since the results of the online survey showed that low use of mobile devices for reading e-texts is also characteristic of UL students, we wanted to investigate in more detail the reasons and barriers to the use of mobile devices for reading e-texts.

Visokošolske knjižnice Univerze v Črni Gori

Prior to higher education reform, the University of Montenegro tended to develop as a loose association of separate organizational units and the University members, the University holding the greatest administrative and organizational autonomy and independence. The library system tended to develop in the same direction – with the central University library as the University member and libraries of faculties and institutes, which completely autonomously and independently worked under the auspices of the faculties and universities as their own organizational units.
