Through a brief summary of the history and structure of Bulgarian librarianship, the paper reveals how the library community has been gradually integrated into the international COBISS.Net network. Presented are the very beginnings of the librarianship and its subsequent expansion in the independent Bulgaria. The development after the Second World War, the time when the librarianship experienced both extreme forms of ideologisation and extensive institutionalisation, is described in more details. The changes after 1989 present the starting point for the development, which leading to a modern IT-supported Bulgarian librarianship has to deal with market conditions and is constrained by shortage of finance. Stated in this paper are three main academic institutions that provide education and training to librarians.

    Kranj City Library is one of the largest Slovenian public libraries, which, like most Slovenian libraries, also deals with the debts of its users. Prohit Claims Management Agency helps us to collect the debts. Before collection by an external contractor, we first carry out a series of procedures in the library to collect the debts ourselves.     Reading behaviour of students at the University of Ljubljana in a mobile environment

      Foreign research reports low use of mobile devices for reading e-texts among students, so we investigated mobile reading behaviour among UL students. Since the results of the online survey showed that low use of mobile devices for reading e-texts is also characteristic of UL students, we wanted to investigate in more detail the reasons and barriers to the use of mobile devices for reading e-texts.

The available data reflects the accessibility of professional events for the promotion of reading literacy and reading culture in Slovenia. Practitioners attend such training, but at the same time, they doubt their competence to encourage and plan the development of reading literacy and reading culture.

            Library System Development Centre, National and University Library, and integration of school libraries in COBISS

              The amendments to the Librarianship Act in 2015 redefined the status of school libraries and assigned new tasks associated with the monitoring of the activities and development of school libraries to the National and University Library (NUL). The statistical monitoring of activities performed by school libraries, the designing of the school library development strategy, the concept of three-year development plans and the development of regulations on the conditions to be met by school libraries in the field of education are among the new activities of the Library System Development Centre, NUL.
