Rapid technological development and increasing quality requirements have been accompanied by the development of quality control standards, including the ISO family of standards. In Slovenia, as elsewhere, an increasing number of organisations are deciding to establish a quality system in accordance with ISO 9000 and to obtain the certificate.
The transition to electronic forms of publishing raises, and gradually aggravates, the issue of the preservation of electronic sources, which are rather fleeting. Preservation of electronic sources has been, thus far, rather unsuccessful.
