Netgeneration is the generation born after 1982, which succeeded previous typical generations, such as the X generation, post-WW2 generation, pre-WW2 generation. It differs from other generations in that it has been growing up with computers and the Internet. As regards ICT, the memebres of the netgeneration have developed different habits and “hypertext mind”, their attitude towards technology is organic and for them the technology is a common part of the life environment. They see “infosphere” undivided and global and they opose the idea of different information environments, e.g. at school, in libraries, in entertainment, etc. Dominant institutions avoid confronting the dissimilarity of the netgeneration. As this, in particular, applies for schools, more and more people use new learning methods offered on the web. Should schools refuse to accept substantially changed social and technological context of the netgeneration, libraries should not follow their example but instead side with the netgeneration. In return, they will get a strong advocator of innovative library services. On this basis the netgeneration will most probably be regarded as the carrier of the renaissance of the future of libraries.
